We are currently working together, seeking a dedicated and experienced Port Agent to join our dynamic team in either Rotterdam or Antwerp.
Job Summary:
As a Port Agent, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of shipping activities at the port. You will act as the primary point of contact for vessels, managing all aspects of port calls and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all aspects of vessel port calls, including arrival, berthing, cargo operations, and departure
- Liaise with port authorities, terminal operators, customs officials, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient handling of vessels
- Prepare and submit required documentation to relevant authorities, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations
- Monitor and report on the status of port operations, identifying and resolving any issues that may arise
- Provide accurate and timely updates to clients, keeping them informed of the progress of their shipments
- Handle any emergencies or unexpected situations that may occur during port calls
- Maintain comprehensive records of all port activities and transactions
- Assist with the planning and coordination of logistics and supply chain activities related to port operations
- Strong knowledge of port operations, customs procedures, and maritime regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel as required
