The Company-
With the UK tides able to provide 12% of the country's electricity demand, my clients vision is to enable tidal energy to be a valued part of the renewable energy mix and to have a tangible impact on climate change, promoting clean oceans. With a growing portfolio of projects across the UK, they are looking to expand their team to manage the successful delivery of key projects.

This candidate will ideally sit in their Edinburgh office but there is flexibility on this for them to be located near to one of their UK sites.

The Role-
They are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in offshore renewables and a proven track record in managing complex projects, particularly in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) applications. This role will oversee the development and implementation of tidal energy projects across five sites in the UK, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for:
  • Leading and managing multiple offshore renewable energy projects, ensuring successful execution across all sites.
  • Overseeing procurement activities, including sourcing equipment, services, and contractors, while maintaining a strong focus on quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Managing project timelines and lead times, ensuring efficient project scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Coordinating and leading project meetings with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure clear communication and smooth project progression.
  • Negotiating contracts and tenders with suppliers, contractors, and other external partners, ensuring competitive pricing and adherence to technical specifications.
  • Supply chain management to ensure materials and services are delivered as per project timelines.
The Person-
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the offshore renewables sector, with a focus on project management.
  • Hands-on experience with CFD projects (ideally in the marine energy or offshore renewables sector).
  • Proven expertise in procurement, supply chain management, and managing contracts and tenders.
  • Strong understanding of project delivery processes, from design through to commissioning and operations.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • A passion for renewable energy and sustainable technologies.
Desirable Skills:
  • Background in turbine technology, marine energy systems, or hydrodynamics.
  • Experience working on UK-based offshore projects, with knowledge of relevant regulations and standards.
  • Familiarity with risk management processes and safety protocols specific to offshore energy projects.
