About the Role: As an Post Fixture Operations Specialist, the candidate will be at the helm of essential maritime operations. Their expertise will ensure smooth sailing for the fleet, managing everything from hires and laytime calculations to liaising with charterers and brokers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Experience Matters: Bring a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role to the table.
- Voyage Calculations: Prepare and check hires, laytime, and demurrage calculations for Tanker/Cargo and Container vessels.
- Charter Party Knowledge: Communicate effectively with charterers and brokers, utilizing a deep understanding of charter parties.
- Automated Operations: Keep the VMS program updated with necessary data and inputs during voyages.
- Invoice Management: Issue invoices and debit charterers for expenses during the vessel's charter period (excluding tankers in the tramp market).
- Operational Communication: Monitor and respond to operation department messages daily, drafting replies under the supervision of the vessel’s operator.
- Payment Follow-Up: Coordinate with charterers and brokers to ensure timely payment of hires and demurrages, sending reminders as needed.
- Accounts Liaison: Work closely with the Accounts department to track fund payments from various parties.
- Dispute Resolution: Draft replies to address discrepancies and disputes, showcasing a strong knowledge of charter parties.
- Expertise: A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in hire, laytime, and demurrage calculations.
- Communication: Excellent liaison skills with charterers, brokers, and internal departments.
- Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail in managing invoices, payments, and operational communications.
