Job Description

We are seeking a Port Engineer for our client’s team in Dubai, UAE, supporting the offshore oil, gas, and renewable energy sectors.

The Port Engineer will oversee the technical and operational aspects of assigned vessels, ensuring safe, efficient operations that comply with all regulations.

In this role, you’ll manage the maintenance and operational standards of designated vessels, conduct scheduled maintenance, and collaborate with the Fleet Manager on dry-docking schedules and work lists. You will also conduct offshore inspections, prepare reports, ensure regulatory compliance, and work with the crewing department to staff vessels effectively. Responsibilities include vessel inspections, stakeholder engagement, and maintaining records of performance, certifications, and maintenance.

The Ideal Candidate:
  • Holds a Marine Engineer certification, ideally Class III/2 or II/2 Certificate of Competency
  • Has Chief Engineer experience, including 12 months on self-propelled jack-up barges
  • Proficient in ISPS, ISM, Flag State, and Classification Society standards
  • Experienced in dry-dockings, mobilisations/demobilisations, repairs, and new builds
  • Strong team leadership and client-facing skills
  • Degree in Marine Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
This is a permanent, shore-based role in Dubai, UAE, with a competitive salary and benefits package. Candidates must be willing to reside full-time in Dubai.
