Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced HSSE Trainer to develop and deliver high-quality training programs, ensuring compliance and promoting best practices across their North Sea operations. This role is crucial in equipping employees and contractors with the knowledge and skills needed to maintain the highest standards of health, safety, security, and environmental management.

Location: North Sea (Extensive travel required) HULL preferred.

Key Responsibilities: 

 
 Training Development & Delivery
  • Design and deliver engaging, role-specific HSSE training courses for employees and contractors across ports and vessels.
  • Maintain up-to-date training materials reflecting current legislation, industry best practices, and company policies.
  • Provide specialized training in areas such as:
    - Safety inductions
    - Emergency preparedness and response
    - Incident reporting and investigation
    - Security awareness
    - Environmental protection and pollution control
Compliance & Standards
  • Ensure all training aligns with industry regulations, including ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and International Maritime Organization (IMO) requirements.
  • Support compliance with safety and security legislation, including the Health & Safety at Work Act, MARPOL, and ISPS Code.
  • Maintain accurate training records to demonstrate regulatory compliance.
Engagement & Safety Culture
  • Act as a safety ambassador, driving a culture of continuous improvement in HSSE performance.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to operational teams to embed safe working practices.
  • Work closely with supervisors and managers to identify training needs and tailor solutions.
Monitoring & Evaluation
  • Assess training effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and incident trends.
  • Recommend improvements to training strategies based on performance data and audits.
  • Stay informed on emerging regulations, technologies, and best practices to enhance training programs.
Key Result Areas: 
 
Improved HSSE performance and compliance with industry standards.
Effective assurance protocols aligned with operational risks.
Positive feedback from internal stakeholders.

Requirements:
 
- Experience: Proven background in delivering HSSE training in high-risk environments (Ports, Marine, or Logistics).
Expertise: Strong knowledge of incident investigation techniques (e.g., ICAM) and relevant legislation.
Skills: Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with the confidence to engage diverse audiences.
Travel: Willingness to travel extensively across ports and vessels.
Languages: Beneficial to speak Dutch
Education:
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent), ideally NEBOSH Diploma.
  • PTTLS/AET Level 3 or equivalent teaching qualification. (Or willing to do the course with the client after hired).
