Position Overview: As a Marine Superintendent, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our cruise ships. You will be based in Germany, surrounded by a passionate and talented team dedicated to providing world-class experiences for our passengers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of multiple cruise ships, ensuring compliance with company policies and international maritime regulations.
- Conduct regular ship inspections to assess the condition, maintenance, and safety of all vessel systems and equipment.
- Monitor and manage the performance of the ship's technical and engineering teams, ensuring operational efficiency and safety.
- Collaborate with the company's headquarters and onshore teams to plan and execute maintenance and repair activities in port and during scheduled dry-dockings.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the ships' safety management systems to ensure compliance with ISM Code and other industry standards.
- Participate in accident and incident investigations and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Manage and optimize the budget for the marine department.
- Liaise with port authorities, classification societies, and other relevant organizations to ensure compliance with international regulations.
- Monitor and report on environmental initiatives and sustainability practices, with a focus on reducing the ships' environmental footprint.
- A bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering or related field.
- Relevant experience in marine operations, preferably within the cruise ship industry.
- Knowledge of international maritime regulations, safety management systems, and environmental standards.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a team.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel and spend time at sea as required.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
