Reporting to: Head of Marine Engineering Technology
Location: UAE

As a Marine Engineering Lecturer you will support the Academy’s strategic goals, teaching various maritime subjects, including Marine Propulsion Systems, Engineering Management and Marine Engineering Operations. You will conduct research to continuously deliver informed, industry leading maritime training, employing innovative teaching methods. 

Qualification, Skills and Experience

Essential:
  • STCW Class 1 Certificate of Competency (Engineer) Unlimited.
  • MSc or equivalent Master level qualification in relevant subject.
  • Business level written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work within a team, across different cultures.
  • Ability to work under pressure with the intent to complete tasks promptly and efficiently. 
Desirable:
  • Experience of maritime education and/or training.
  • Sailing experience as a Chief Engineer on merchant ships.
  • Educational experience with leading courses/ programs, revising course content, developing new programs and courses.
  • Knowledge of student-centred teaching and learning methodologies.
