The successful candidate must possess experience in pricing and estimating small to medium-sized work tasks and fabrication projects. Reporting directly to the Operations Director and the Site Operations Manager.
As part of this role you will:
- Read complex engineering drawings.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with existing clients, identifying opportunities for selling services.
- Planning and overseeing projects both onsite and in Port, this may necessitate the requirement to travel.
- Agree contract/project objectives and scopes of work with clients.
- Supervise large squads of multiple trades in the completion of complex scopes of repair works, including steelwork, piping & general engineering. While also organising, various sub-contractors carrying out on site works.
- Understand other trades within the ship repair environment, such as outfitting, painting, engines, hydraulics and electrical as these can often form minor parts of the project scopes.
- Ensure project time and budget requirements are met.
- Produce completed project reports in different formats.
Candidates are likely to come from a Oil & Gas, Ship repair or steel fabrication background. Knowledge of steelwork, and marine engineering systems would be an asset particularly within a maintenance arena.
Candidates should be IT literate and be happy and able to work in a busy shipyard environment. Whilst the role is based in Greenock, there will be times you are required to work in other yards around Scotland within the busines
