Key Responsibilities:
- Promotion and Relationship Building:
- Represent shipyards by promoting their services to UK-based ship-owning and management companies.
- Conduct client visits, manage phone and email communications, and participate in industry events.
- Maintain and nurture existing client relationships while proactively identifying and developing new leads and opportunities.
- Project Management:
- Solicit and manage enquiries, including drydock and repair specifications.
- Conduct commercial and technical evaluations of specifications, with support from the company’s Technical department when necessary.
- Ensure effective follow-up with clients and shipyard principals to secure projects.
- Cross-Promotion of Services:
- Actively promote our clients broader range of services and portfolio to clients and stakeholders.
- Travel Requirements:
- Regular travel to meet with clients across the UK.
- Occasional international travel to visit shipyards.
The ideal candidate will possess a background in the maritime sector, with experience in either sales and marketing or technical roles. Familiarity with UK-based shipping companies will be a significant advantage. We are looking for someone who is:
- Personable, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organised and proactive, capable of managing multiple tasks effectively.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Driven to achieve results in a competitive, fast-paced environment.
- Background in marine engineering, naval architecture, or related maritime fields preferred.
- Sales or marketing experience, particularly within the shipping industry, is advantageous.
- Strong commercial acumen and technical understanding of shipyard repair and conversions are desirable.
