What You’ll Do:
As an Energy Efficiency Engineer, you will be at the forefront of improving energy efficiency across our operations. Collaborating closely with both onboard teams and shore-based stakeholders, you will develop an accurate energy baseline and lead initiatives that enhance fuel consumption and overall energy efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage energy efficiency projects across our fleet, with a special focus on Hotel Energy Management.
- Provide expert advice on selecting the best renewable energy technologies for our ships and terminals.
- Drive operational changes to improve fuel consumption and energy efficiency on existing ships.
- Establish and monitor energy consumption baselines, utilizing performance analytics to identify and implement the most effective energy efficiency strategies.
- Collaborate with various departments to monitor, analyze, and report on fleet performance, focusing on optimizing fuel consumption.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal; additional languages are a plus.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Energy Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on energy efficiency, preferably within the maritime industry.
- Strong understanding of medium and low voltage electricity generation, energy storage systems, converters, control drivers, and shore connection plants.
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards, including Flag State, USCG, and IMO regulations related to energy efficiency and carbon consumption.
- Proven experience in analytics, budget management, and project management within technical project delivery.
