An exciting opportunity for a Cloud Engineer to join the market leader in clean marine technology, Silverstream Technologies.

Company: Silverstream Technologies was founded in 2010 with the aim of optimising fuel efficiency in the Maritime sector using air lubrication technology. The Silverstream® System is a proven energy saving technology, delivering 5-10% net fuel and emissions savings and can be used on both retrofit and newbuild vessels. Air lubrication is a strategically important technology which addresses the immediate decarbonisation requirements and the operational efficiency challenges emanating from future energy transitions.

Location: Chandlers Ford, Southampton Office OR London HQ, Marylebone.

Reporting to: Head of Software Development

This role is dedicated to translating the vision and plans set by the product management team into tangible product features and functionalities, responsible for building a scalable data platform that is capable of handling millions of incoming data points from thousands of ships and develop robust digital applications that is capable of handling thousands of users.

You will contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of our Azure cloud infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, scalability, and security. In this role, you will have the opportunity to play a crucial part in guiding teams to adopt best practices and adhere to conventions for cloud engineering and DevOps pipelines.

Experience / Qualifications Required:

  • Must have a full Engineering or Science degree OR have equivalent experience in a relevant industry position.

  • Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer.

  • Strong knowledge of Azure cloud computing services, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure App Service, Azure Storage, Azure Networking, and Azure Security.

  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or ARM templates.

  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.

  • Experience with Azure DevOps for continuous integration and continuous deployment(CI/CD) pipelines.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Azure cloud infrastructure and deployments.
