Role Overview:
Location: Dubai
Focus: Managing container and vessel assets, improving operational efficiency across regional offices, and ensuring high standards in port turnaround times, vendor relations, and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
Container & Vessel Management:
- Oversee container and vessel assets, managing loading, discharging, turnaround times, and maintenance.
- Address escalated operational issues and liaise with terminals to resolve port-related problems.
- Arrange transshipment onto third-party vessels to optimise container flow.
- Coordinate with regional offices to monitor costs and analyse operational performance.
- Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives in collaboration with front offices.
- Manage vendor relationships, ensuring tariffs are updated in the system and facilitating annual procurement.
- Track yard space usage, dwell times, and manage container repair costs.
- Conduct audits for depot operations, including food-grade container management, and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Provide technical support and training for regional teams on container repair and recovery.
- Drive corporate sustainability efforts, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and company policies.
- Lead CO₂ reduction projects and develop green strategies in collaboration with global headquarters.
- Coach stakeholders to align with the organisation’s environmental objectives.
- Degree or Diploma in Maritime Business, Business Administration, or Logistics.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in liner shipping and vendor management preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, with excellent written and verbal communication.
- Proactive and independent with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
