You will provide comprehensive project management support throughout project lifecycles, collaborating closely with vessel operations and the commercial team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Safety and Project Management: Ensure that safety remains a top priority in all planning and execution activities. Lead and manage significant vessel system upgrades from the initial stages through commissioning, including on-site supervision as necessary. Employ a broad knowledge of marine engineering while being prepared to manage projects beyond core areas of expertise.
Project Planning and Scheduling: Follow the Stage Gate Process for project planning and execution. Direct the Scheduler in preparing and monitoring project schedules throughout the planning and execution phases. Develop cost estimates for various project elements and track these costs to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency.
Financial and Risk Management: Monitor the financial status of assigned work scopes and provide accurate forecasts to complete for project budgets. Participate in project risk analysis, evaluation, remediation activities.
Engineering and Compliance: Oversee the development, supervision, and coordination of basic and detailed engineering, defining equipment requirements according to project design criteria and compliance standards. Ensure projects comply with industry standards, Classification Rules, Flag, and Regulatory requirements.
Vendor and Contractor Management: Identify and evaluate potential vendors in consultation with Supply Chain Management. Prepare detailed vendor RFQs, review quotations with project team members, and ensure commercial terms meet project and company requirements. Review and approve vendor and shipyard designs, drawings, specifications, and documentation. Supervise and manage contractors and shipyards to ensure compliance with the company's specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Be prepared for some international travel to shipyards for drydocking and repairs, maintaining direct contact with engineering, operations, and business development teams.
Are you the ideal candidate?
- Recognized bachelor’s degree or equivalent engineering degree and experience in LNG/FSRU operations, offshore oil and gas industry, or marine sector with shipyard project management experience.
- Experience in LNG related operations preferred.
- Certifications from recognized project management organizations.
- Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills as well as computer proficiency including MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, and use of scheduling programs such as MS Project or Primavera
