I am working with an offshore engineering consultancy who specialise in providing innovative and high-quality solutions for the offshore energy, marine, and infrastructure industries. With a commitment to delivering complex engineering projects with precision, they are seeking a talented and experienced Naval Architect to join their dynamic team.
The Role:
They are looking for an experienced Naval Architect with a strong background in mooring analysis and hydrodynamics. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in using OrcaFlex and will play a key role in conducting detailed engineering analysis and simulations to support the design and assessment of mooring systems and marine structures.
Responsibilities-
- Perform mooring analysis and hydrodynamic simulations to assess the performance and integrity of offshore systems.
- Develop and implement OrcaFlex models to simulate and analyze the behavior of mooring lines, anchors, and floating structures under various environmental conditions.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure solutions meet client specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform data analysis and interpret results to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Support the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and documentation for clients and regulatory bodies.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in offshore engineering, hydrodynamics, and mooring technologies.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in naval architecture and mooring analysis in an offshore engineering or consultancy environment.
- Expert-level proficiency in OrcaFlex, including model development, analysis, and interpretation of results.
- Solid understanding of hydrodynamics, marine operations, and mooring systems for offshore installations.
- Proven ability to solve complex engineering problems with a strong analytical mindset.
- Experience with relevant industry standards and codes (e.g., API, DNV, ISO) related to offshore mooring systems and hydrodynamics.
- Experience in other marine simulation tools or software.
- Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) or Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for offshore applications.
