Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company’s Health & Safety Management System, ensuring full compliance with UK and Maritime law.
- Act as the key advisor to the Board, reporting monthly on health and safety performance and delivering quarterly presentations.
- Set health and safety objectives across all locations, monitor performance, and ensure timely corrective actions are taken.
- Ensure health and safety responsibilities are clear and enforced at all levels, from top management to front-line employees.
- Oversee the delivery of safety workshops and training programs to keep staff updated on the latest legislation and safety practices.
- Consult with internal teams, employees, and clients on health and safety issues to foster a collaborative approach.
- Conduct regular audits, safety inspections, and risk assessments, ensuring that controls are effective and improvements are implemented promptly.
- Professional qualifications such as IOSH or NEBOSH are essential.
- Extensive experience in managing and developing health and safety systems within a large organisation.
- Strong understanding of safety management systems and up-to-date knowledge of UK and maritime safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and engage staff at all levels.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
- A valid, clean driving licence, as travel to different sites may be required.
