As the Electrical Services Director, you will be the electro-technical first point of contact shoreside for the ships under your management. You will support onboard electrical operations, addressing any issues related to electrical systems and equipment that require advanced expertise in automation, electronic, and electrical engineering.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Technical Support: Assist Technical Superintendents with complex electrical issues, providing higher-level expertise as needed.
  • Requisitions Management: Approve ship's requisitions for spares, services, and consumables, and manage shoreside requests for materials and services.
  • Budget Planning: Aid the Vice President of Electrical Services in planning yearly and long-term maintenance budgets, and monitoring monthly expenses.
  • Dry-dock Preparation: Participate in planning and preparing dry-dock specifications, overseeing ship repairs and maintenance during refits.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Work with the Vice President of Electrical Services and Technical Superintendents to plan modifications and updates to meet new safety regulations.
  • Safety Management: Actively structure, implement, and monitor the company’s safety management systems within your responsibilities, participating in incident response plans.
  • Policy Adherence: Ensure familiarity with Safety and Environmental Protection Policies and SEMS, executing relevant policies and procedures.
  • Other Duties: Perform other job-related functions as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Education: Technical/Electrical Engineering degree or related field, or equivalent combination of experience and skills.
  • Experience: Minimum ten years of experience in electrical engineering, with management experience preferred.
  • Skills and Knowledge:
    • Strong knowledge of safety and environmental protection policies.
    • Understanding of maritime compliance codes and safety regulations.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Planning and organizational skills for managing ship electrical maintenance and dry-dockings.
    • Project management skills to handle timelines and budgets.
    • Interpersonal and supervisory skills to manage onboard electrical staff effectively.
    • Excellent troubleshooting abilities.
    • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
    • Ability to prioritize safety and environmental standards in daily decisions.
    • Willingness to travel onboard as required by business needs.
Special Requirements:
  • Cruise Industry Knowledge: Prior experience in the cruise industry is highly desirable.
  • Work Authorization: Must have the legal right to work in the USA.
