Are you a dedicated marine professional with extensive experience in passenger/freight ferry operations? Join our client TfL, where you will take on a pivotal role in managing the Woolwich Ferry Service, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective services for all.

About the Role:
As a Marine Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the Woolwich Ferry Service, both ashore and afloat. You’ll manage a team of over 12 staff, including marine crew and shoreside personnel, while liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders.
You will lead on safety, emergency response planning, and compliance with regulations, including ISM, MCA, and ISO requirements. You will manage budgets, special projects, and maintain strong relations with unions, service suppliers, and emergency services.

Qualifications & Skills Required:
  • STCW II/2 Chief Mate Certificate of Competency
  • OR  hold the National Boatmaster qualification with Local Knowledge Endorsement.
  • Strong knowledge of the ISM Code, MCA regulations, and safety management systems.
  • Extensive experience in ferry operations, with expertise in marine and landside terminal management.
  • Proven ability in team leadership, safety awareness training, and service resilience.
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and budget management skills.
