We are working with a leading independent consultancy who provide specialist services to organisations around the world for marine and offshore technical projects. Their team of engineers, mariners and specialist consultants work closely with energy companies, offshore and marine contractors, underwriters, insurance brokers and many others, to deliver tailor-made project risk mitigation, engineering and incident investigation services. The Role:
This position is a key role for an individual experienced in offshore operations with a strong background in the management and execution of such projects. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and successful execution of marine operations, providing expert oversight and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
The candidate can expect to be involved in a wide range of projects within the offshore renewables sector, primarily for marine warranty surveyor services, therefore requires to have a good understanding of the practical aspects of offshore design and installation.
The candidate will be able to show practical knowledge and experience of the offshore energy industry including; transportation and installation, marine operations, operations & maintenance, etc.
Key activities will include-
• Review of marine procedures, method statements and engineering documents;
• Attending on-site (onshore and offshore) to witness and approve operations;
• Management of Marine Warranty Survey (MWS) projects, including commercial and technical aspects;
• Providing advice and guidance, based on their experience, for consultancy services, including feasibility studies and engineering projects;
• Providing support, based on their experience, to marine incident investigations, legal investigations and contractual disputes;
• Follow up on technological developments and proactively engage in knowledge exchange with internal colleagues and external expert groups;
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets;
• Monitor project progress and performance against established objectives, identifying potential risks, implementing corrective actions and sharing lessons learned;
• Assisting with Client Development, Marketing and Tendering, to introduce and deliver new business to the Company.
The Person:
To be successful, you will need to demonstrate the following qualifications, professional expertise and personal attributes:
• Appropriate professional qualifications of either a marine or engineering background;
• Offshore Renewable Energy experience, experience from the Oil and Gas sector will also be actively considered;
• A proven track record of managing complex marine projects, experience of Marine Warranty Surveying;
• Ideally be a SOMWS member, or be working towards it;
• Strong understanding of maritime regulations, industry standards, and best practices;
• Enthusiasm, motivation and drive to deliver a top quality service;
• A pro-active attitude with strong attention to detail;
• Detail-oriented approach with a focus on delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines.
• Ability to travel to project sites and offshore locations as needed.
