Our client, a leading company in the commercial maritime sector, and offshore vessel owner, is looking for a motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager to join their team. You will be spearheading comprehensive business development strategies within the maritime and offshore sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Market Analysis: Perform thorough research on market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments. Extract valuable insights on customer needs, regulatory changes, and economic factors to guide business strategies.
  • Opportunity Identification: Actively pursue and uncover new business opportunities through networking, attending industry events, trade shows, and direct outreach. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified leads, utilizing CRM tools for effective management.
  • Client Engagement: Develop and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with clients. Regularly engage with clients through meetings and check-ins to understand their needs and provide customized solutions.
  • Proposal Creation: Work with internal teams to craft detailed, competitive proposals that clearly articulate our client's value proposition. Ensure proposals are well-structured and compelling.
  • Strategic Contribution: Assist in shaping the company’s business development strategy. Help identify growth targets and key performance indicators (KPIs), and participate in strategy sessions to adapt the company’s direction based on market changes.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Serve as a bridge between business development and other departments, such as marketing, operations, and finance, to ensure cohesive support for business initiatives. Share market insights and client feedback to influence marketing and operational plans.
  • Performance Measurement: Develop metrics to track sales activities and client acquisition. Regularly monitor and report on KPIs, and gather client feedback to refine and improve sales strategies.
Requirements:

Ideally you will be degree educated, with a Bachelor’s in Business, Maritime Studies, or a related field.

You should be able to demonstrate proven success in business development or sales within the maritime industry.

A strong understanding of commercial maritime operations and market sector dynamics will be essential to success in this role. 

It is likely that extensive travel will be required for you to be successful in this role.
