Operations Manager

Global Shipowner looking to hire an experienced Operations Manager for their Singapore office. This role is responsible for overseeing the commercial and operational performance of a fleet of large oil tankers, including VLCCs, Suezmax, and LR2/Aframax vessels. The Operations Manager plays a central role in coordinating daily operations, managing voyage-related finances, ensuring regulatory compliance, and optimizing vessel performance. The position requires close collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders, including ship managers, charterers, legal advisors, and technical teams.

• Monitor and enhance vessel commercial performance.
• Oversee voyage finances, including cost tracking and billing (freight, laytime, demurrage, claims).
• Coordinate daily fleet operations with technical managers and onboard staff.
• Ensure accurate communication and documentation of voyage and cargo data.
• Supervise bunker planning and management.
• Handle voyage documentation and support claim processes.
• Evaluate voyage performance to identify inefficiencies or issues.
• Manage and respond to cargo-related claims, involving legal and insurance teams when needed.
• Provide backup support in the General Manager’s absence, including emergency response.
• Mentor and train team members to boost operational capabilities.
• Contribute to quality management and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Holds a diploma or degree in a relevant field or equivalent maritime qualifications (Master’s Certificate preferred).
• Has at least 5 years of relevant marine industry experience.
• Minimum of 3 years at sea as a licensed officer (preferably at management level).
• Strong knowledge of post-fixture vessel operations in the oil tanker sector.
