Key Responsibilities:
  • Security Oversight: Serve as Company Security Officer, providing leadership within the Emergency Response Team.
  • Fleet Safety & Compliance: Conduct onboard inspections and oversee adherence to the company’s HSSEQ and environmental standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and enhance Integrated Management Systems (IMS) and Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) protocols.
  • Investigation & Reporting: Lead investigations into incidents and accidents, and prepare detailed reports to strengthen company safety measures.
  • Training & Drills: Implement and monitor safety training plans, drills, and exercises, ensuring preparedness and compliance with charterer requirements.
  • Audit Coordination: Manage and monitor ISM/ISPS/MLC internal audits, maintaining high standards in security practices and awareness among ship staff.
  • Communication & Documentation: Disseminate safety bulletins, memos, and security policies, fostering a proactive safety culture onboard.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Manage fleet management updates for incident and drill tracking, master’s reviews, risk assessments, and cadet training programs.
  • Oversee shipboard training and conduct audits to verify effectiveness.
  • Perform overseas visits and onboard sailing trips as needed to enhance compliance and provide hands-on support
Qualifications:
  • Maritime expertise (Certificate of Competency Class 1/2 or relevant marine diploma).
  • Excellent communication skills and a passion for safety.
  • Willingness to travel overseas to visit and support our ships directly.
