Workshop Technician (Medium Speed Diesel Engines)
-Performs the disassembly, inspection, servicing, overhauling, rebuilding and repair of medium speed engine components including machining of cylinder head valve stems, valve seats, oversize valve seat pockets, valve guides, cylinder liner honing, polishing, diamond lapping etc.
-Able to safely operate various workshop equipment such as lathe, milling, cutting, grinding, honing, lapping, heating, and welding etc.
-Adheres at all times to workplace EHS procedures and requirements.
-Performs measuring and calibration of engine parts and components to a high degree of accuracy using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, Vernier gauges, dial indicators, feeler gauges, depth gauges, surface roughness gauges.
-Able to safely machine components within specifications, custom fabricate metal components to high standards and tolerances.
-Performs inspection of various engine components to determine condition. Familiar with crack testing processes.
-Performs replacement of necessary parts without the guide of a service engineer.
-Reassembles engine components and carries out required quality assurance checks and testing to engine specifications. This includes hydro pressure testing of cylinder heads.
-Prepares workshop reports including calibration reports, work reports etc.
-Prepares lists of necessary replacement parts, issues parts requisitions documentation.
-Maintain and keep all workshop equipment in good, safe, and ready to used condition.
-Follows defined workshop workflow processes.
-Performs work in accordance to manufacturers service manuals, maintenance manuals, and drawings.
-Communicates verbally in an effective manner with technical staff, other employees and vendors.
-Also needs to perform the above services either onboard a vessel, oil rig, platform, offshore installation, or land based power plant outside of the UAE.
-Use basic soldering and brazing skills as needed.
-Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
-Must have at least five years of experience in marine engine component workshop servicing and repair, machining, or equivalent schooling.
-Technical diploma holder or marine certification preferred.
-Should demonstrate good mechanical comprehension and strong communication skills with technical staff and fellow employees.

-Salary Range AED 6500 p.m. - AED 8300 p.m.
-Bonus potential of 9%
-Housing Allowance will range from 3200 p.m. AED to 4,100 p.m. AED
-Transportation Allowance will range from 1,000 p.m. AED to 1,200 p.m. AED
