The Roles

To effectively manage HSE within the Shipping team, including:

*Managing HSE matters by providing oversight for all services, particularly in relation to the safe operation of the LNG shipping fleet
*Facilitate the HSE assessment of shipyards, third party vessels, Terminals and any other shipping service providers
*Ensuring HSE recommendations and procedures comply with applicable marine laws, regulations and policies
*Closely monitor Shipping HSE regulatory changes and communicate/implement these across the Shipping Department and fleet
*Conduct as required visits to Vessels, Operators offices and shipyards to ensure appropriate HSE standards are observed and implemented,
*Supporting Vessel managers in marine incident investigations and risk assessments
*Supporting Communications Advisor in organising emergency response training and drills with Vessel Operators
*Foster a climate with Vessel Operators that ensures an incident and injury free environment
*Monitor and report on the HSE performance of the Vessels, monitor trends and share best practice across the fleet,
*Ensuring HSE compliance within Shipping Department, in accordance with policies and procedures
*Maintenance of the Shipping elements of the Crisis Management Plan and Charterer's Instructions
*Maintaining up to date Company Records of Shipping Department HSE activities


Main accountabilities

*Support the Communications Advisor in the development and maintenance of the Crisis Management Plan
*Developing and maintaining Shipping HSE procedures
*Routine Vessel and Operators HSE inspections
*Accurate and timely reporting as required on HSE related activities including contributions to reporting and business planning obligations under the Shareholders' Agreement


Educational qualifications and experience

*5-10 years' experience of the HSE aspects of marine operations including experience of LNG Terminal, Vessels and shipyard activities
*Seagoing experience and a senior STCW qualification
*Good written and oral communications skills
*Computer proficiency in the use of databases and spreadsheets
*Leadership skills to influence third party vessel managers to develop a project HSE culture
*Capable of working in a multi-cultural environment.
